As the creator and editor of Flavor 574, I used email marketing to retain readers and bring their attention to new launches. I built a healthy email list quickly and organically, and saw steady growth over Flavor’s first 18 months while I was in charge.
Mailchimp was my platform of choice—its scalability, user-friendliness and mobile compatibility were vital assets for a growing brand with limited resources. Here are a few examples of launch emails and newsletters I designed and wrote for Flavor.
Launches
These were one-off campaigns, usually promoting the launch of a new issue of the Flavor 574 digital magazine.
Newsletters
I also used RSS templates to automate themed weekly newsletters and to allow readers to subscribe to their favorite bloggers. These links show the most recent edition of each newsletter, so the content is not mine but they still use the frameworks I created.
